100th Birthday Celebration

On Saturday the 06^th of May 2023, the Letlojane family had the honor to celebrate a centenary birthday of their mother.

The Phuthaditjhaba based family had the streets buzzing with community members, friends, and family, together with Net Nine Nine team celebrating a 100^th birthday of their mother. As part of community development, the community reached out to Net Nine Nine to give a helping hand in making the day extra special.

The company only saw it fit to take part in this overwhelming and exciting experience. Since the celebration was open to the community, it was close to impossible for the family to sponsor the day and feed everyone. Net Nine Nine sponsored the event and provided enough groceries to cater for the day.

We often ask ourselves what’s a birthday celebration without a cake? The Sandton fibre company brought with them a huge cake fit to serve the whole community and some of it was left as everyone had enough. During the cutting of the cake, the company representative expressed that the sharing of the cake with everyone is how their company prefers to share its profits with the community.

It was a special day in the Phuthaditjhaba community for one elderly resident. The community’s golden woman was surrounded by family, friends, community members and the Net Nine Nine team.

“Ke be kesa hopola hore letsatsi le tlile hobe jena, ke thabile ka makalo (I did not expect my day to be this way, I am overwhelmed with joy),” said Letlojane who was turning 100 years on the day. Net Nine Nine stepped out to celebrate this day with the queen of the day.

Since the event was an open event, it would have been close to impossible for the family to sponsor and cater for everyone, but the company brought their A-game to the celebration. The company donated from groceries to cater for the whole event, to a table-full cake that fed all the attendees and some still leftover.

The company wished her more years of grooming her great grandchildren and appreciated her family, friends and neighbours for continuously taking care of her even if it sometimes gets close to impossible.
