Organiser

This competition is organised by Net Nine Nine (Pty) Ltd (“NNN”).

Eligibility

The competition is open to all natural persons who are residents of South Africa, are confirmed NNN clients by 31 October 2025, and who submit a valid entry in accordance with these Terms and Conditions. Employees, directors, and agents of NNN, as well as their immediate families, are not eligible to enter.

Competition Period

• Entries open on 1 October 2025 and close on 15 October 2025.
• Semi-finalists will be announced on 20 October 2025.
• Late or incomplete entries will not be considered.

Entry Requirements

Each participant must submit one poem (of any length, in any official South African language) that addresses the competition theme: “Our Heritage, Our Future”, drawing inspiration from Afro-Futurism.

Entries may be submitted in person at any NNN store or via Facebook direct message to NNN. Participants must provide a copy of their South African ID and any documents reasonably required to verify authorship, as well as a clear photograph of themselves. All entrants must sign the waiver and undertaking contained herein.

Originality and Copyright

All entries must be the participant’s own original work. Copyright in the poem remains vested in the author. By entering, participants grant NNN a free, irrevocable, worldwide licence to use, reproduce, publish, adapt, broadcast, display, and distribute the poem in whole or in part for purposes related to the competition, marketing, publicity, or future promotional activities, without payment of royalties or fees.

Judging and Selection

Poems will be judged by a panel appointed by NNN. Judging criteria may include originality, creativity, adherence to the theme, and overall quality. The judges’ decision is final and binding, and no correspondence will be entered into.

Prizes

Details of prizes, if any, will be communicated by NNN through its official channels. Prizes are not transferable or exchangeable and may not be redeemed for cash.

Indemnity and Liability

• • Participants warrant that their entry does not infringe the rights of any third party.Participants indemnify and hold harmless NNN, its directors, employees, and affiliates against any claims, losses, or damages arising from any allegation that the poem infringes intellectual property rights, any breach of these Terms and Conditions, or NNN’s use of the poem in accordance with these Terms.
  • NNN shall not be liable for any technical failures, lost entries, or events outside its reasonable control.
• Publicity and Consent
  • By entering, participants consent to the use of their name, likeness, and submitted work for publicity, promotional, or marketing purposes, without further compensation.
  • Participants consent to NNN collecting, storing, and processing their personal information (including ID and contact details) for purposes of administering this competition in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA).

Disqualification

NNN reserves the right to disqualify any participant who provides false information, submits plagiarised or offensive content, or breaches these Terms and Conditions.

General

NNN reserves the right to amend, suspend, or cancel the competition where reasonably necessary. These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of South Africa.

Waiver and Undertaking

I, the undersigned, hereby declare that I am the original author of the submitted poem, I grant NNN the licence to use my work as set out above, I indemnify NNN against any third-party claims relating to my entry, and I consent to the use of my name, likeness, and poem for publicity and promotional purposes.
