NUMBERS DON’T LIE, WILLIAM SAYS ‘THANK YOU’!

Net Nine Nine Regional Manager, William Ratladi, is happy with his latest sales record and wants to do more.

Mpumalanga has shuttered Net Nine Nine’s monthly uptake records for March, surpassing a 1 700 figure, with 1 739 homes newly connected by the closed-access Fibre-To-The-Home Internet Service Provider (ISP).

Combined, townships in KwaGuqa (Witbank), Mhluzi (Middelburg), Emzinoni (Bethal) and Hendrina have amassed credible numbers closer to 1 800, a growth of about 18% from their previous record in February 2025, which is 1 453

According to Regional Manager, William Ratladi, looking after the four areas, they have always been averaging 1 100 + sales from December 2023 , but this time around they’ve turned the corner and broke the net like a lion charging after a limping springbok.

SALES BREAKDOWN PER AREA!

Here’s a breakdown in numbers of new homes connected by Net Nine Nine in the region in March 2025:

KwaGuqa – 762

Mhluzi – 430

Bethal – 301

Hendrina – 246

All the unlocked homes gave Ratladi a cool 1 739, which is a new record for the workaholic manager who plans on making it better in April.

“I’ve tried 1 500 for over the past three months, and I’ve been missing it,” he explains.

“March was a serious pick up of our new sales from where we’re coming from. For my region, this is my first time I made such orders, and I’m proud of my entire team in KwaGuqa, Mhluzi, Bethal and Hendrina.”

We’ll, his work is very far from covering at least 90% of the areas, like KwaGuqa alone, there’s an uptake of 25 000 in the offing, but he vows that he will reach his target considering the dedication from his colleagues in the areas.

PEOPLE BELIEVE IN NET NINE NINE!

Sipping water at his KwaGuqa store on 1 April 2025, looking at the snaking queue of clients who came to pay their monthly fees, Ratladi revealed that in November last year, they managed to do 620 a month.

He believes it was a bigger achievement for them in comparison to other regions across all eight provinces who are yet to touch the number, highlighting Rocklands with an average of 520 in a month.

“At least we’ve surpassed that and touched 600, which makes for a healthy competition in our endeavour to have South Africans connected with the most reliable and affordable internet,” said Ratladi.

“But there are more areas and we are growing, fast. My fellow regions will reach 600 and above in earnest.”

He explained his strategy to break his own record every month: “I don’t have anyone that I’m competing with but myself. Like in this case, when I’ve done 600, then next month I’m gunning for 650, putting pressure on myself. Then after 650 I up the bar to keep on climbing up the ladder. The stock is always there and just needs to be installed in people’s homes.”

CHASING AFTER HIS RECORD!

“Imagine, out of the 25 000 homes that we’ve built, as KwaGuqa, we’re sitting at about 7 000 homes connected. There is still a lot of houses to connect, and we’re not even half-way. We are going to push harder. Mine is to beat my own record monthly, if I’ve done better in December then I want to do far better in January, and so it goes.

“Look at that queue now at our KwaGuqa store, it’s always packed with clients who are here to pay their accounts, and this means they’re happy clients. I’m very thankful to all the people in Mpumalanga for their support, their believe in the brand, Net Nine Nine, means a lot to us.”

However, he confessed that they had to work extremely hard to be where they are today.

He said KwaGuqa used to be the most problematic area where they had politicians interfering with their daily operations, sub-contractors and local SMMEs who misunderstood their way of operation, and many thought guys from Gauteng will take their job opportunities.

REAPING REWARDS OF HARDWORK!

But they stuck to their company policies and kept all contracts and jobs to locals, and now everyone is reaping rewards for associating themselves with Net Nine Nine.

When network is down, Ratladi fights hard to have it back online in order to retain the relationship he has with his clients.

Despite all 5G and satellite internet service providers in the areas, people believe and recognise Net Nine Nine as their trusted means of surfing the net.

“We use a ship method, when something is new, then people wait to see if it will sink, and if not, then they all jump into it,” he said.

“When a community leader takes up our fibre then everyone in the township will follow and connect. But this might take six months or more to reach a qualified uptake. People wait on each other for reviews before they can come in, hence patience is important. They do their own research and once they come in, then they’re hooked forever.”
